Indus valley civilisation

What major historical events do you remember?

I recently visited to a site of The Indus River Valley civilisation, which is considered as one of the earliest cradles of civilisation. Together with ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, it was one of three early civilisations of the Near East and South Asia.

Of the three, it was the most widespread it spanned much of Pakistan, northwestern India and northeast Afghanistan. Excavations undertaken in several sites where the ancient city of Harappa thrived several centuries ago continue to unravel the secrets of the civilisation.

The cities of the ancient Indus were noted for their urban planning, baked brick houses, elaborate drainage systems, water supply systems, clusters of large non-residential buildings, and techniques of handicraft and metallurgy.

Harappan civilisation not only shaped the economic landscape of the world but also fostered cross-cultural interactions that helped lay the foundation for global trade systems in the centuries to come. The maritime networks of the Harappan civilisation and their crucial role in shaping its economic and cultural trajectory.

Indus Valley Civilisation ke baare mein padhkar hamesha ek sense of wonder hota hai — unka urban planning, drainage system aur trade networks itne advanced the ki aaj bhi scholars unse impress hote hain.
Aapne jo maritime trade aur cross-cultural interactions ka angle mention kiya hai, woh especially interesting laga. Yeh dikhata hai ki Harappan log sirf ek regional power nahi the, balki global trade ke early pioneers bhi the.

Great work! Looking forward to your next post. 👏

I’ve read a fair bit about the Indus Valley Civilisation. It really was profound and isn’t given the credit it deserves.
