Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
My interests in many things have either shifted or changed completely. I feel like I’ve become a little selfish and a lot more lazy. As a result, I find it’s best to just stick to the bare minimum.
Losing interest over time, often affects hobbies, physical activity, sports, social interactions, romantic relationships etc. Instead of doing all this I prefer to take rest and a proper sleep.
Aging and changing social environments are responsible for this. Because even if people get free from work, they prefer to remain busy on their mobile phones instead of going out and playing any sports.
I never imagined I would be blogging actively on the online platform like WordPress. It needs a proper time and have many excellent fellow bloggers to read. This is a prime example of an interest shift.

This is a very honest and thoughtful reflection. I appreciate how openly you acknowledge change without judging it as purely good or bad. What you describe doesn’t sound like selfishness or laziness so much as self-awareness—recognizing where your energy truly wants to go now.
Interests shifting with age, environment, and lifestyle is natural, especially in a world that has moved so much of its social life onto screens. Your observation about rest and sleep being chosen over constant activity feels especially real; valuing rest is often a sign of growth, not decline.

This feels incredibly real. What you’re describing doesn’t read as laziness, but as a natural recalibration that comes with time, energy limits, and changing environments. Interests evolve, and sometimes rest itself becomes the most honest choice.

I think it’s pretty common for interests to shift over time…

Shashwat, totally get the shift—bare minimum rest over everything else is real as we age! Blogging’s a cool new vibe though.

Great post! I get in and out of reading. I like collecting stiletto shoes, even though in last 2 years I haven’t bought any. I love blogging and swimming. Even though for a rather long time I’ve been absent from both. Hobbies are often dictated by mental capacity and circumstances. I just try to keep my interests alive in all my hobbies while accepting that I am not able to attend to them for the time being.
