If you could have dinner with any philosopher, who would it be?
I once had a natural philosopher. She wasn’t a philosophy student, but she knew everything about the world. All I had to do was find time and sit with her. She frames arguments, anticipates counterpoints, and responds with clarity.
Someone who doesn’t just answer questions but also generates them, creating a cycle of inquiry and resolution. In fact, that’s very close to how Socrates worked. He believed philosophy wasn’t about having answers, but about asking better questions.
Some of the questions were beyond my understanding, but I performed my duties as a good listener with complete dedication. And where could I spend more quality time than this. She raises her own questions, showing intellectual independence.
