What’s the weirdest coincidence you’ve ever experienced?
My cousin had just gotten married in December. A few days later, New Year’s arrived, and I wished him a Happy New Year at midnight. Coincidentally, my number wasn’t saved on his phone because he had bought a new one.
Bhabhi(sister in law) noticed a message from an unknown number on Brother’s phone. She suspected it was a message from a girl. She called the number first thing in the morning; meanwhile, I had gone to my karate class, which took place at that time.
The phone kept ringing, so my mother answered it. As soon as she heard my mother’s voice, my sister-in-law’s suspicion was confirmed—it really was a girl who had messaged at night.
Meanwhile, my mom thought a girlfriend of mine had called. That led to a huge argument between the two of them.
After a heated argument, when Mom asked where she was calling from, Sister in law mentioned Brother’s name. Only then did Mom understand the situation, and the matter was put to rest. Even today, we crack up whenever we recall this incident.

What a wonderfully funny family anecdote! 😄 It is amazing how one innocent New Year’s message turned into a full-blown comedy of misunderstandings.
The beauty of this story lies in its perfect chain of assumptions. Your number wasn’t saved on your cousin’s new phone, so your simple “Happy New Year” message suddenly became suspicious. Your sister-in-law imagined that an unknown girl must have messaged her newly married husband. Then your mother answered the phone while you were away at karate class—and somehow the misunderstanding became even bigger! 😂
