What do you think is the future of AI?
Each evening, a familiar scene unfolds in homes around the world. A teenager sits hunched over their smartphone, seamlessly moving between chats, videos, social media, and games.
Homework is completed with the help of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform. Engagement with the world increasingly gives way to time spent on screens. While this may appear routine today, it could represent a profound change in how children and their developing brains experience the world, learn, and grow.
The future of AI will not be determined by technology alone. It will also depend on human choices.
AI could help us cure diseases, improve education, accelerate scientific discoveries, and solve complex problems. Alternatively, irresponsible use could deepen inequality, spread misinformation, and weaken important human skills.
Perhaps the most important question is not simply, “How intelligent will AI become?” but rather. As AI becomes more capable, how will we ensure that human beings continue to think independently, act responsibly, and live meaningful lives?
Technology may become increasingly intelligent, but our responsibility is to ensure that human progress grows alongside it.
